Prom season is here! We asked our resident fashion guru, Joubaier, for his take on the trends for 2015...
Sheer & Illusion
Sheer dresses with understated or slim silhouettes (mermaid, column, ball gown and a-line designs) with appliqués of lace or Embroidery onto sheer or illusion cutout dresses will give you a delicately modern feminine touch.
High necklines are making a big comeback right now (halter necks, dresses with wide straps and necklines completely covered with illusion fabric, rhinestone embellished and/or appliquéd).
Low Cut & Open Backs
Dresses that feature open backs, low cut backs or cut-out backs are popular.
Popular prom dress colors for 2015 are champagne, nude, navy, jewel tones like cranberry and emerald, as well as black.
We hope this helps narrow down your search and get some ideas for your personal prom style for this year. Couture House has a wide array of these popular styles and colors to choose from, whether you'd like to borrow or buy. Hope to see you soon!
Joubaier will soon graduate with his fashion design degree and hopes to start his own line in the near future. He originally had aspirations to be an architect and started drawing dresses in his free time which turned out to be his real passion. His dream is to design his own bridal clothing line called Joubaier Artisanal. Joubaier's favorite designer is Nicolas Ghesquière (new designer at Louis Vuitton).
Fun fact: He credits the show "That's So Raven" as an inspiration to study fashion design.
